Subject : The study on the demographic future of Germany, carried out by the Berlin-Institute für Weltbevölkerung und Entwicklung, appreciated for the first time the potential of the 440 administrative units as well as cities managing in an autonomous way. It defined for this purpose 22 indicators to estimate the chances of development of the areas. These indicators were established for various sectors (demography, economy, integration, education, quality of reception of the families and town-planning), starting from the official statistics and of statistics of the companies of the private sector.
